I understood that. That type of information is probably more the rule, rather
than the exception. The only variance is in the length of time the information
remains accurate. Sometimes it's seconds, sometimes it's centuries. It is
straightforward to handle them all in similar ways. 

Another example is how MediaWiki handles edit conflicts - the fact of being in
conflict or not depends on ephemeral information.
