Can reproduce this in the 2.2 emulator. When you try to play an audio file, no
sound is played and the spinner never goes away. You get this in the logs:
E/MediaPlayer( 437): error (100, 0)
E/MediaPlayer( 437): Error (100,0)
E/AudioService( 65): Media server died.
E/AudioService( 65): Media server started.
Neither the success nor the failure callback for the media object gets called.
