Instead lets turn to how to clean up the pre 8/2008 damage. Wait a second. Couldn't there be a bot that marches through Wikipedia, and every time it encounters class wikitable not followed by a border statement, it could add border="1", fully confident that as it is a class wikitable, its author intends to have borders.
