             Bug #: 37106
Summary: Article revisions should display the article title at
                    the time of the revision
           Product: MediaWiki
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Unprioritized
         Component: History/Diffs
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]
    Classification: Unclassified
   Mobile Platform: ---

Would it be possible for the MW software, when looking at article history, to
show the title of the article as it was at the time of the revision? When
sorting out groups of articles that have interrelated move/merge histories this
would be very helpful. It can be confusing to look at the history and see text
that appears unrelated to the topic, only to sort through revisions and logs to
discover that it had a different article title at the time. Without the context
of the name at the time, it is difficult to understand the intentions of the
editor.

Bug 31306 would fix this issue going forward, but would not address existing
pages.
