Summary: Misleading text/layout in RevisionDelete
Product: MediaWiki
Version: unspecified
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: Normal
Component: Deleting
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
[[w:Special:Undelete/User:DingmanDelaware]] has the text of 2 edits removed
using RevDeleted (defamation) with "Suppress data from administrators"
selected.
1/ The way the revisions are listed under "Page History" is misleading or
confusing for oversighters:
"(del/undel) (diff) <s>TIMESTAMP</s> . . USER"
since it would look the same whether or not admins could view the material.
2/ The revision and diff are headed by a note ("This page revision has been
removed from the public archives. As an administrator you can view it..."). The
note suggests access is available to any admin.
The problem in both cases is an oversighter can't be quickly sure if the
revision is visible to admins or suppressed (it would look the same whether or
not administrators could view it).
