             Bug #: 39252
           Summary: Text just vanished
           Product: MediaWiki
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: Unprioritized
         Component: Database
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]
    Classification: Unclassified
   Mobile Platform: ---

I was typing something onto the TALK section for an article.
Somehow, I hit some key by accident, and then everything that I had typed
DISAPPEARED. I cannot find it anywhere, either.

THIS SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN !
THIS IS THE ULTIMATE IN A USER-UNFRIENDLY COMPUTER PROGRAM.

NO PROGRAM SHOULD EVER JUST ERASE TEXT THAT WE HAVE TYPED, AND MAKE IT
DISAPPEAR FOREVER. THERE SHOULD ALWAYS BE SOME BUFFER, SOME BACK-UP FILE, WHERE
THAT TEXT CAN BE FOUND.

ALSO, I NEVER GOT A MESSAGE THAT SAID, "DO YOU REALLY WANT TO ERASE THIS?"

FOR EVERY "PLAN A", THERE SHOULD BE A "PLAN B", AND PLAN B SHOULD BE EASY TO
USE.

BLAME IT ON WINDOWS 7 OR WHATEVER. IN ANY CASE, YOUR SOFTWARE SHOULD OVERCOME
THE FOIBLES OF WINDOWS 7. MAKE YOUR SYSTEM EASY AND RELIABLE FOR HUMAN BEINGS
TO USE.

DALE A. WOOD
