The attribute value "auto" for "dir" (dir="auto") is html5. Several places it
could be necessary to use this because the language direction is unknown, but
as it is not defind as part of neither html 4.01 or xhtml 1.0 it would make it
necessary to switch to html 5 to get consistent behavior.
