Web browser: --- Bug #: 40300 Summary: Broken autocomplete for Arabic scripts Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Unprioritized Component: WikidataRepo AssignedTo: wikidata-b...@lists.wikimedia.org ReportedBy: aude.w...@gmail.com CC: wikidata-b...@lists.wikimedia.org Classification: Unclassified Mobile Platform: --- Created attachment 11118 --> https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/attachment.cgi?id=11118 autocomplete broken in arabic scripts The highlighting used in the autocomplete JavaScript is problematic for languages (e.g. Farsi, Urdu, Arabic, ...) using Arabic script. When bolding is applied to matching characters, it breaks how the letters in the work ought to connect. The problem occurs on the ItemView page, when selecting a site link page, and anywhere else the highlighting is used. http://wikidata-test-repo.wikimedia.de/wiki/Data:Q2 For Arabic language scripts, I think bolding is unnecessary for autocomplete. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug. _______________________________________________ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
