Communities past request should have went through LangCom. I think any other
such future requests (including this one) should perhaps go through LangCom to
make sure it isn't problematic.

The status quo is problematic particularly for multi-lingual projects such as
commons, meta or even wikimania. These wikis typically use the ku language code
(reading just "Kurdi") to refer to the kmr dialect of Kurdish.

Wikis currently cannot be renamed due to technical reasons so this would be an
improvement to all multi-lingual wikis.
