At least this is what should happen from a users point of view. I'm doing purge for a file. Not for a (incomplete) list of thumbnails. And why is it not possible to purge a thumbnail by appending ?action=purge to it? This would be a nice workaround in such cases as long as the underlying problem is not fixed.
