Somewhat related to bug 42127, it seems <https://labsconsole.wikimedia.org/>
has features such as page counters enabled. This is evident by the text "This
page has been accessed 26,128 times." at the bottom of
<https://labsconsole.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page>.
The wiki's settings should be tweaked, I think. There are measurable
performance gains from a few simple changes (such as disabling hit counters).
