             Bug #: 42645
Summary: Site link used error is confusing
           Product: MediaWiki extensions
           Version: master
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Unprioritized
         Component: WikidataRepo
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected],
                    [email protected]
    Classification: Unclassified
   Mobile Platform: ---

When I try to add a site link which is already used in another item, I get the
following error:

"Edit not allowed: * Your edit was patched into the latest version. * Site link
[[frwiki:Bière]] already used by item [[Item:Q63]]."

1) the word "patched" is completely confusing to end users
2) it sounds like something was successful, but then contradicts the "edit not
allowed" and other stuff it's telling me.
3) "edit not allowed" also sounds harsh to me. it's not a permissions issue,
but the important thing it tells me is that the site link is already used in
another item.

Parsing the [[Item:Q63]] and giving me a link would also be very nice.
