"Edit" is in the dictionary but only as computing jargon, AFAIK: 3 [transitive, intransitive] edit (something) (computing) to make changes to text or data on screen http://oald8.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/dictionary/edit The main meaning of it may suggest that you want big contributions/supervising rather than generic changes (other useful word) or plain proofreading.
