Bug ID: 43351
Summary: Add clickable anchors to timestamps on Talk pages
Product: MediaWiki
Version: 1.21-git
Hardware: All
URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Stack_Overflow#Criti
cism_.28October_2011.29
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: Unprioritized
Component: General/Unknown
Assignee: [email protected]

Classification: Unclassified
Mobile Platform: ---
Long term feature addition request:
Not only do headers like
<span class="mw-headline" id="Criticism_.28October_2011.29"><span
class="mw-headline-number">7</span> Criticism (October 2011)</span> not offer
the user a way to "get the link",
other than copying it from the TOC...
**Each individual comment** has an unlinked timestamp.
I.e., there is no way to link to an individual comment within a long
discussion.
Compare this with e.g., Facebook's
http://www.facebook.com/groups/taiwan.couchsurfing/permalink/505080126191377/?comment_id=505510526148337&offset=0&total_comments=5
Or

on Stackoverflow, etc.
Of course note that the link one gets from the timestamp should position the
browser to
the top of the comment, not back to the timestamp which is at the bottom.
