Yes, you are right. What I meant with my poor wording is that now
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/How_to_contribute is clearly the best candidate
to become the destination link. At least this is what I'm proposing, in order
to move forward, focus our attention improving that page and the immediately
related and forget about the other alternative.
