[ Note 1: about SecurePoll current use ]

The English Wikipedia used it in the following processes:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:SecurePoll_%28main_page%29.png

They allowed a closed vote.

[ Note 2: about poll or election software need ]

Emanuele, if you have any need for a poll solution, please discuss it on
#wikimedia-tech. Most wikis use traditional wiki pages and count votes at the
end. They prefer any vote to be visible for transparency of the process and
accountability of the participants.

Furthermore, some wiki tradition emphasizes on the debate aspect. See for
example

On the French Wikipedia (as an essay):
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia:Discuter_au_lieu_de_voter

On the Italian Wikipedia (as a consensual rule):
http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Discuti,_non_votare
