In testing Echo on MediaWiki.org, I got the following email notification:
Subject:A page you started was cross referenced on MediaWiki
"User talk:MAssaf (WMF) was linked by MediaWiki user MAssaf (WMF), from this
page: User talk:Steven (WMF)"
This means that any time I create a user talk page, and that person signs their
name anywhere, users will currently receive a talk page notification. These
notifications are not actionable.
The simplest solution here is to limit notifications about pages I start to
ns0. We can be assured that articles I start are much more important to me, as
an editor, than user talk pages, sandboxes, etc.
