As it's not hard to change it, some long-term vandals could bypass this block easily if they know the nature. Same reason as if we blocked people based on their UA... On the contrary, showing the IP that triggered the block would be useful. Sometimes people report us that they have been blocked without a valid reason, which is good to know. They couldn't report without knowing which IP triggered the block. But this is only my opinion and does not reflect what other stewards can think. I forwarded the issue to the whole team so they can also comment.
