Languages on beta are broken in various ways
1) The list is usually incomplete due to a low default limit. Limit probably
needs to be set to 500
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&prop=langlinks&format=json&llurl=true&titles=Battleship&lllimit=500
2) The labels of the languages are the language codes and need to be
translated. It would be good if the above query could include the localised
language name in the response.
3) Variants are not showing
