Bug ID: 44486
Summary: MediaWiki should not refer to password reset e-mails
as reminders
Product: MediaWiki
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: NEW
Keywords: easy
Severity: normal
Priority: Unprioritized
Component: General/Unknown
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected], [email protected]
Classification: Unclassified
Mobile Platform: ---
When a user clicks "Forgotten your login details?" on a MediaWiki wiki
currently and successfully submits a valid username, the wiki outputs:
---
Reset password
A reminder e-mail has been sent.
---
This is wrong. It is not a reminder e-mail. The user already knows his or her
username and the e-mail does not (and cannot) contain the user's password. The
word "reminder" is simply wrong, I believe.
In the e-mail body text itself, it reads:
---
Someone (probably you, from IP address ...) requested a reminder of your
account details ...
---
This should also be changed.
