The use of a token for analytics purposes for past and existing projects (like AFT or E3 experiments) has been reviewed with Legal on an ad-hoc basis, but that's not a viable approach for the future. WMF is now resuming work on the privacy policy. We started a conversation last week to determine whether WMF needs this data at all and under what conditions/restrictions it can or should be collected.
