The update to the software at English Wikibooks in order to allow people to try
out the new beta Wikipedia Usability Initiative inadvertently altered the
permissions granted to administrators on the site.
Previously administrators were able to suppress redirects when moving pages
(whether for reverting vandalism or avoiding orphaned redirects). This is the
"suppressredirect" permission. Administrators are no longer able to suppress
redirects when moving pages.
It is possible that other permissions on the site were changed from their
previous settings during the course of this action that I have yet to discover.
