I tried to log in on the Commons app nightly build (pointed at
test.wikipedia.org) at a time when the domain was having certificate issues.
This caused the app to crash upon attempted sign-in.
When I was still signed in from before the the certificate problems, all
attempted uploads would fail immediately without an explanation of why, and the
app would crash when I used intents to share an image to the app.
