Please provide the LiquidThreads extension at wikitech.wikimedia.org. Yes, it
has its problems but all in all is a better discussion environment than plain
Talk pages, especially for users that haven't done Talk discussions before.
Most of those issues barely appear in regular use, casual discussions, sporadic
page moves...

Our primary audience are developers and other technical contributors. All of
them know what a web form is and how it behaves. It is safe to assume that many
of them haven't discussed the Talk page way before.

We could have it optional as in mediawiki.org. I would even go for having it as
opt-out, giving the option to editors to turn them off:
