It was installed there by request from the Arabic Wikipedia community. In Wikidata it can be disabled: 1. Pressing the language selector link at the top (near the username) 2. Pressing "Display settings" ("عرض الإعدادات"). 3. Selecting "System font" in "font for العربية". 4. Save the settings ("طبّق الإعدادات"). What exactly do you mean by "characters folded on each other"? For example, Lam over Meem? That's how the Amiri font is supposed to look.
