Rationale: It is possible to completely disable the input method tools from the keyboard icon. These are the steps: 1. Open the icon's dropdown menu. 2. At the bottom, there is an option "More settings". Click that. 3. This opens a dialog that has a green button with text "Disable input method tools". Click that. 4. Click "Apply settings".
