However for other stuff (and maybe LaTeX too) we still want some way to accomplishing this. Uploading .tex files is a perrennial request, and we really should be able to get it done, along with other file types for graphing, music sequencer files etc etc Currently some music sequencer filetypes are in the dependency, however there are some bug reports for others as well.
