Since recently, the "New messages count" disappears on Special:NewMessages
after clicking thread as read.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to URL as a logged in user with new messages.
Observed:
I. User menu item reads "New messages (50)"
2. Click "Mark as read" for a thread.
Observed:
II. Thread collapses, to for example "The thread {{LanguageHeader|de}} was
marked as read. Undo"
III. User menu item that reads "New messages (##)" is no longer visible.
Expected:
II. Thread collapses, to for example "The thread {{LanguageHeader|de}} was
marked as read. Undo"
IV. User menu item reads "New messages (##)", where ## is the updated new
messages count.
Additional information:
* Using Firefox 20.0 on OSX 10.8.3.
