The current version of ffmpeg used on wikimedia servers seems to mangle the
thumbnail generation of videos encoded with the latest theora encoder.
(included with firefogg)
I have not confirmed but I believe a more recent version of ffmpeg solves this
problem. An alternative would be to use a xiph based tool to abstract the
thumbnail.
