Today, I decided to test if the {{user}} template was compatible with Echo.
1. Using my alternate account, MJ49, I made this edit to notify my main
account, MJ94:

2. Realizing that it didn't notify me, I saw that I forgot to sign my post. I
tried again. This should have notified me, as far as I'm aware:

3. That didn't notify me, so I tried clearing the sandbox for a fresh attempt:

Does the use of templates prevent notifications? Are they limited to
specifically [[User:Example|this format]]? If so, can we allow templates as a
form of notification?
