At the time of filing, Special:Undelete was showing nothing in "Page history" or "File history" while the file itself was inaccessible from the description page, hence "completely disappeared". I was hoping nobody would touch the files before the assignee got to look at the bug, because the later deletion seems to have fixed the problem.
