            Bug ID: 48906
Summary: tools cgi in user directories - add .cgi extension to
                    ExecCGI option
           Product: Wikimedia Labs
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Unprioritized
         Component: tools
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
    Classification: Unclassified
   Mobile Platform: ---

At the moment, the labs setup will execute .php and .py files in the user's
public_html directory, but not .cgi files.

There seems to be no security advantage to this, because a file named .py can
be any kind of executable file, and the webserver will still execute it.

For those who program in other languages, a neutral extension such as .cgi
would be preferable to .py .
