Exactly what is the problem? The fact that the VisualEditor dialog overlaps the
Monobook sidebar, or that the searchbox/logo in the Monobook sidebar overlap
the VisualEditor dialog?

The VisualEditor dialog overlapping is pretty much inevitable since it has a
minimum width. If your screen is too narrow it has no where to go (short of a
scrollbar, which I think give a worse user experience).

If it were always overlapping it would be a more pressing problem, but right
now it only overlaps if you activate the review dialog, in which case your
focus is more likely to be on the dialog than on the sidebar (e.g. if we need
to choose, it is the obvious choice).
