Instead of displaying an error message the two Wikidata items are silently "merged". The link is removed from the first Wikidata item and added to the second. I'm not sure if this is a good idea. It's way to easy to introduce errors with this mechanic. I did not even realized what I did without checking my contributions at Wikidata. There should be at least a warning before a link is removed from an existing item.
