Summary: Changes to Link Dialog Icon
Product: VisualEditor
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: Unprioritized
Component: Editing Tools

There is consensus for a change to this element here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback#Dustbin_icon_not_intuitive_for_.22unlink.22
To summarize - the garbage can icon to remove a link is not intuitive. Users
may be unsure of its function, or believe it will remove the highlighted text,
rather than just the link. Most other editing UI's employ a broken link for
this function, so it will be more familiar.
Suggested improvement:
*Replace "Garbage Can/Dustbin" with a "broken link" icon
(example:http://us.fotolia.com/id/49483380)
*Replace current rollover text "Remove" with "Unlink"
