Bug ID: 54957
Summary: Reference should not be selected after adding it
Product: VisualEditor
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: Unprioritized
Component: General
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected], [email protected]
Classification: Unclassified
Mobile Platform: ---
When you add a reference, it is automatically selected (blue), instead of
having the cursor positioned directly after it (or better still, with a space
after the ref and the cursor after that). The effec is that if you enter a ref
and then start typing (which is rather normal editing behaviour), your ref
immediately gets removed (overwritten) again, which makes it rather pointless.
I think that it is much more often the intention to continue typing after
adding a ref, than to have it highlighted, so please change the default
behaviour.
