Perceived performance could be substantially improved by having VisualEditor
optimistically request serialization of the DOM as soon as the user hits "Save
page". If the user ends up canceling the save, the serialized DOM would be
discarded.
Users that take a few seconds to write the edit summary before confirming the
save would experience near-instant saves this way.
