Bug ID: 56077
Summary: Enable export of versions of templates and all
dependencies as they existed on a certain date
Product: MediaWiki
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: Unprioritized
Component: Templates

Some people don't want to use Scribuntu yet (e.g. because they can't prepare
their environment for it, or it's not worth the hassle); they just want to use
the pre-Scribuntu templates from Wikipedia. However, those old templates still
had a lot of dependencies.
Special:Export should have a feature that lets you select the date/time of the
versions of the templates and dependencies you want to export. So, e.g., users
could get the versions of Template:Infobox and its dependencies as they existed
on 27 May 2013, in one export, without needing to manually go through the
histories of each individual dependency.
By the way, is this already possible using the parameters offset=[timestamp]
and limit=1? If so, all that would be needed would be a change to the GUI. In
the meantime, the Scribuntu documentation could explain how to use the
parameters. However, it would be better to change the GUI, for the benefit of
those who don't have a bot handy with which to POST the request.
