On the French Wikipedia any number which identifies a given reference, say 1,
is not meant to appear in brackets.
When VEditing any page instead (try
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gare_aux_Oreilles for example) it does become
[1], and then it's back to plain 1 once the page is saved.
So VE is not being much WYSIWYG here. Can/should this be fixed? Thanks!
