            Bug ID: 57218
Summary: Get rid of "Do not forget to change your <wiki name>
                    preferences."
           Product: MediaWiki
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: Unprioritized
         Component: User login and signup
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]
            Blocks: 38638
    Classification: Unclassified
   Mobile Platform: ---

After creating an account, you are told:

  == Welcome, <username>! ==

Your account has been created. Do not forget to change your <site name>
  preferences.

  Return to <some page>.

This is about the worst possible call to action - why would most users,
straight after creating an account, suddenly want to visit a page containing
several tabs full of settings, most of which are completely baffling to a
totally new user?

If we keep it, we need to at least get rid of "do not forget". It really
doesn't matter if you forget to change preferences.
