Steps to reproduce:
1.Click on the Edit button
2.Add a reference to a text
3.Select the reference icon
4.Press left arrow key to move the cursor to the left of the icon
5.Now delete all of the text on the left of the icon by pressing backspace
button
Observed Result:
A pawn ♙ appears right next to the reference icon.
