Let me put it another way: if you treat people like lab mice, I think you'll
have a lot of difficulty getting them to trust, appreciate, or respect you when
you're not treating them like lab mice. I absolutely think you run the risk of
creating a reputation as someone hell-bent on making heavy-handed design
decisions and people will have difficulty separating your ideas and actions _as
head experimenter on the users_ from your ideas and actions as someone trying
to work collaboratively with Wikimedia, the very smart and diverse user
community.
