created to Commons using 'commons:' is already infinite".

First: please stop typing things with double brackets around them. It doesn't
do what you think it does.
Secondly: nobody has claimed that this is "suddenly important". 
Thirdly: nobody is proposing to change "commons:" to "c:".

"For the record", I really don't think you understand what's going on here at
all, and it's probably a good idea for you not to prognosticate on what makes a
"bad idea" until you do.
