Having syslogs for things like disk and network errors at least would be a
great addition for post-event triage and tracking trends.
There are things that end up in syslog that are not meant for mere mortals to
see however so it's likely that we would need to have a closely controlled
filtering mechanism in place on the log shipping end to whitelist things that
can be added to syslog. This needs to be discussed with Operations in general
before any real work can move forward.
