            Bug ID: 62972
           Summary: Use picture's GPS coordinates to propose nearby
                    geographical categories
           Product: Commons App
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: Unprioritized
         Component: Android
          Assignee: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org
          Reporter: nicolas.ra...@gmail.com
                CC: br...@wikimedia.org, yuvipa...@gmail.com
       Web browser: ---
   Mobile Platform: ---

=== PROBLEM ===

Whenever I use the app, I waste considerable time trying to find what is the
most appropriate geographical neighboorhood I should classify the picture into.

In practice, it leads to many uncategorized pictures and worse, mis-categorized
pictures, which are hard to spot later.

=== SOLUTION ===

If the picture has geographical EXIF data, then request some server (hosted at
Labs?) to return the 5 nearest geographical categories. The request can be done
in parallel with the upload.
Show these 5 as suggested categories.

=== EFFECT ===
Less mis-categorization
Picture are more findable and useful
Less criticism of "App pictures being useless"
