A board that's been hit by a spam bot attack that's been deleted appears empty

Go to a page that's been hit by a spam bot attack where the spam posts have
been deleted, such as [[mw:Talk:Beta Features/Hovercards]]. If you're an admin,
you see lots of "This topic was deleted by X", and if you're not an admin you
don't see these posts. This is good. However, since you can't see the deleted
topics if you're not an admin, the board looks really empty, like nobody ever
posted there (see attached screenshot).

Perhaps if the most recent topics are deleted, some topics should be loaded so
that the board doesn't appear empty?
