            Bug ID: 66685
Summary: The same placeholder image is used for thumbnails that
haven't loaded and for articles without illustrations
           Product: Wikipedia App
           Version: Alpha
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Unprioritized
         Component: Android App
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected], [email protected],
                    [email protected]
       Web browser: ---
   Mobile Platform: ---

The placeholder image used in search results, history, and bookmarks is the one
that consists of a photo symbol and a plus sign. The idea behind it is that
this indicates an article to which the user can/should add an image. (That's
not a workflow that's supported yet, except manually via wikitext, but I
imagine it will be at some point.)

However, the same image appears for *all* articles before the image loading has
finished (ie, before the app knows whether or not there is a thumbnail to
show). This is confusing, as it creates the initial impression that every
article needs an image.

Before the thumbnails load, while the app is still unsure whether or not a
given article lacks images, a different placeholder that conveys "loading..."
should be used.
