Summary: Page Move Delete Talk Chaos
Product: MediaWiki
Version: unspecified
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: Normal
Component: Special pages
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
Moving and deleting in combination with their talk pages creates pure chaos.
Not very well solved. The following features are essential imo:
On page move:
* Remove useless option to not "Move associated talk page". I can't think of a
situation where I do NOT want to move the talk page as well and instead leave
it behind as dead talk page. If untiked by users it only creates chaos, thus:
remove this option or hide it for normal users if there is really a need for
this.
* Return a warning if the page is linked to.
On deleting pages:
* Return a warning if the page is linked to. See
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17708
* Add checkbox to he deletition form "Delete associated talk page". Seems more
useful than NOT moving it... This would cover
