            Bug ID: 67250
Summary: Special:PrefixIndex should return a count of results.
           Product: MediaWiki
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: Unprioritized
         Component: Special pages
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
       Web browser: ---
   Mobile Platform: ---

The request is for Special:PrefixIndex to return a count of the number of pages
it finds and is able to return that number through the API and the magic
word...

The special page should show "Showing results 1-50 of 115" so people can see
how many (sub-)pages there are with this prefix.

This would allow for something like:
{{#ifexpr:{{Special:PrefixIndex/Wikipedia:Requests for
adminship/User:Example|count=yes}}>1|[{{fullurl:Special:PrefixIndex|prefix=Requests+for+adminship%2FUser:Example&namespace=4}}
RfAs]}} to only show the link if there are actually results.

So, this number should be available to access through the magic word and the
API as well.
