The default text won't disappear when the search bar is auto-focussed
I have two small issues with the new search bar of the Vector skin.
The search bar has a default text ("Search") that should hide once the search
bar gains focus. This is working properly. My search bar however is focussed
automatically once the page finishes loading. Unfortuntely, the default text
won't disappear once I start typing and overlaps with the text I enter. The
other issue is the alignment of the default text itself. It should be aligned
more to the middle, not the bottom.
I tested this with Safari 4, the latest Webkit and Chrome 5 on Mac OS X 10.6.
I'll add a screenshot for clarification.
